Rules & Regulations

Volleyball rules
  1. Each team can consists minimum of 8 players (6 active players and 2 substitutes).
  2. The game will be of 15 points in each set in the qualifier round and 21 points in the Semi-final and final game.
  3. Each game has 3 sets, best of 2 will be considered for the next round.
  4. Each team can have one time-out for each set in qualifier round and 2 time-outs in the semi-final and final rounds.
  5. Team is expected to be there at the ground 30mins prior for the toss and other formalities.
  6. If any team is not showing up on time, the opposite team will be given a BYE.
  7. Please carry your company ID card & Govt id proof for gate clearance.
football rules
  1. Each team will consist of 9 players (7 active players and 2 substitutes).
  2. The game shall consist of 4 periods of 8 minutes each. One time out is allowed in each period.
  3. Knockout matches (LF& WF) - The game shall consist of 4 periods of 10 minutes each. One time out is allowed in each period.
  4. In case of a tie in matches played on league basis, the following procedure shall decide the winner, runner-up in each pool.
  5. The team which has beaten the other team in the league matches shall be the winner.
  6. The tie between more than two teams will be decided on the basis of points scored and points against. The team securing the greatest quotient will be the winner. The points scored for and against shall be counted only in the matches played between the teams in tie.
  7. If the tie still persists, the formula will be points scored – points against. The team with highest difference is declared the winner. Again the scoring will be counted in the matches played between the teams in tie.
  8. In any match, played on knock out/Quarterfinals/Semifinals including the final, if the scores are even, extension of five minutes shall continue to be given till the game is decided.
  9. If any team is not showing up on time, the opposite team will be given a BYE.
  10. Please carry your company ID card & Govt id proof for gate clearance.
basketball rules
  1. Players are requested to carry their Company ID cards and Government issued photo ID card (e.g. Driving License / Aadhaar / Voter ID / Passport etc.) for entry into Infosys and verification by organizing committee.
  2. Each team will consist of 7 players (5 active players and 2 substitutes).
  3. Matches shall be conducted on League cum Knockout basis. The teams shall be divided into 4 groups. From each group two teams emerging on top will qualify to play the knockout/ Quarterfinals/ Semifinals stage matches.
  4. The game shall consist of 4 periods of 8 minutes each. One time out is allowed in each period.
  5. Knockout matches ( LF & WF) - The game shall consist of 4 periods of 10 minutes each. One time out is allowed in each period.

  11. In case a team forfeits & walks out of the court without completing the match, it shall be debarred from rest of the tournament.
  12. Teams are requested to play the game in the true spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
  13. The organizing committee decision will be the final.
Tennis rules
  1. Each event will be best of three matches: Singles, Doubles, Reverse Singles (all men)
  2. Each match will be best of seventeen games (until semis)
    1. First to reach 8 games wins the match. @ 8- all, it will be a tiebreaker. Tiebreaker will be of 7 points. First player to reach 7 points will win the match. If the score is 6-all, first to win the next point wins the match. The player whose turn it was to serve in the set serves the first point of the tiebreak. The opponent serves the next two points and so on. Players to change sides at every six points.
  3. Finals will be best of three sets. First ti reach 6 games wins the set.
  4. Deuce: continuous two points to break the deuce.
  5. After odd number games players to switch sides.
  6. Serve: Foot fault will be called by the referee. Referees call is final call.
badminton rules
1 The Scoring
  1. A tie will be of best of 5 matches. No further matches will be played if a team wins the maximum number i.e. 3. A match is the best of 3 Sets.
  2. All the league matches will be of 15 points best of 3. The players who scores 15 points first wins the set. There will be no deuce.
  3. Semi Finals & Finals will be played to 21 points. The player who scores 21 points first wins the game except that if the score reaches 20-all, the game continues until one player leads by two points or reaches 30.
2 The Warm Up
  1. Before the start of a match, the two team players are allowed up to 2 minutes to “warm-up” after entering the court.
3 Faults & penalties
  1. Waist Fault: Service should be done from below the waist height.
  2. Foot fault: Foot should not displace from ground position, until the service flow is completed.
  3. Receivers Fault: There should not be any pre movement from the receiver until the service has reached the net.
  4. Penalties: Any misconduct on court A player shall not:
    1. deliberately cause delay in, or suspension of, play;
    2. Deliberately modify or damage the shuttle in order to change its speed or its flight;
    3. Behave in an offensive manner; or
    4. Be guilty of misconduct not otherwise covered by the Laws of Badminton.
  5. The Umpire is given the power to penalize those who breached the Law. Umpire can issue a yellow card as a warning.
  6. yellow card = 1 red card = 1 point awarded to opponents.
  7. red card = 1 black card = Disqualified from tournament from all the events.
4 Rest Timings:
  1. 60 seconds at 8 points in league/ 11 points in Semi Final/Final
  2. 120 seconds between the sets.
5 Timing and Walkover
  1. Team or Individual should be available at the court 15 min prior to the scheduled time of the match and must submit the Tie to the referee.
  2. Team or individual should not be late to the match. Delays are not entertained and matches can’t be rescheduled. Opponent will be given a walk over.
6 Format
  1. Chief Referee will hand over the team slip 15 minutes before the tie. The order of play & players mentioned in the slip will be final after it is submitted to chief referee & any irregularities observed can lead to disqualification of the team.
  2. Following will the order of play of each tie:
    1. The team who wins any of the 3 events in the tie will win the tie and move forward to next round.
cycling rules
  1. Race Format: Each rider will have three chances to complete the Pala Pitta loop, and the fastest of the three will be considered for ranking.
  2. Special instructions:
    1. It is recommended that you bring your own cycle (mountain bike); however for those who need, can get a cycle at the park. Those who borrow the park cycle, may do so by accepting all governing conditions of cycle rental at the park.
chess rules
    Duration for each game will be 1 hour (15min + 10sec incremental time for each player).
  1. Pairing for each round will be done before start of the round using Swiss perfect/Manager software.
  2. In case of a tie, Butch, M Butch, progressive scores will be considered and still tie exist, a tie breaker round will be played.
  3. All the rounds will progress in league 5/6Rounds format, and will go through Score resulting in champion and runner up.
  4. Players are requested to play the game in the true spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
  5. Visitors and Guests are not allowed inside Infosys.
  6. The tournament will be played in Swiss format Rapid FIDE rules will apply.
  7. Reporting time is 30 mins before the game starts. Clocks will be started/walkover will be given as per Arbiters decision.
  8. Chess sets and clocks will be arranged by organizers.
  9. For any rules not specified and any other conflicts, Arbiters’ decision will be final.
carrom rules
  1. All categories would be conducted simultaneously.
  2. Best of 1 game till quarterfinals; Semi-finals will be best of 3 games; Finals will be best of 5.
  3. Each Game would consist of 25 points and a maximum of 8 boards. A player who reaches 25 points first will be the winner of that game. Even after 8 boards, if no player has obtained 25 points, the player who has more points will be the winner of that game. If both players have same points after 8 boards, the player who has won a greater number of boards would be the winner. If both players have same points and have won 4 boards each, an extra board will be played to determine the winner.
  4. Referee’s decisions are final,
  5. International Carroms Rules would be followed.
  6. Boards, Coins, Powder would be provided: Please bring your Striker.
  7. Standard Carroms Boards would be used for this tournament. In doubles, no discussions between players will be allowed during a board.
  8. All Rounds will be in knock out format, going through category Semi-finals and Finals, resulting in champions and runner up in the men’s singles, women’s singles and doubles.
table tennis rules
  1. Each team will consist of 6 players ( 3Men+1Women - active players and 1Men+1Women - substitutes).
  2. Matches shall be conducted on League cum Knockout basis. The teams shall be divided into 4 groups. From each group two teams emerging on top will qualify to play the knockout/ Quarterfinals/ Semifinals stage matches.
  3. Players are requested to carry their Company ID cards and Government issued photo ID card (e.g. Driving License/Aadhaar/Voter ID/Passport etc.) for entry into Infosys and verification by organizing committee. Players list has be sent by 9th May."
  4. Visitors and Guests are not allowed inside Infosys.
  5. The tournament will be conducted according to the standard table tennis rules (TTFI Rules).
  6. This is a team event which will be played in the following order 1st Mens Single, Womens Single, 2nd Mens Single, Mens Double, Mixed Double. Team which wins 3 out of 5 above events is the winner."
  7. Teams shall report 30 mins before the start of the match.
  8. Teams are requested to play the game in the true spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.

  10. Table Tennis RULES
    • Table Tennis is a team event consisting of 2 Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, and Mixed Doubles
    • One player can participate in a maximum of 2 events.
    • Standard table tennis rules (TTFI Rules) will be followed.
    • Each match will be best of five games.
    • Team which wins 3 out of 5 above events is the winner
  11. 35+ Mens Singles and 35+ Mens Doubles.
  12. 35+ Mens Singles and 35+ Mens doubles nominations will be taken on first day of the tournament.
  13. FYI……..In 35+ Cat if we get sufficient nomination only will conduct this event OR If we wont get sufficient nomination we may drop this event.
  14. 2 nominations for 35+ Mens single's category and 1 nomination for 35+ Mens double category will be only considered from each company.
  15. All captains from respective company to provide nominations to the organizing committee.
box cricket rules
  1. Admin Rules:
  2. All players must report at venue 30 minutes before game start.
  3. If the full team doesn’t report 10 minutes prior to the official start time, the opposite team will be awarded as winners.
  4. Games will be postponed in case of rain.
  5. Umpire decisions are final & irrevocable.
  6. Matches will be played with hard tennis ball, players are requested to come in sportswear.
  7. Spiked shoes are not allowed inside the playing area.
  8. All players are expected to be courteous to each other and with the officials.
  9. Arguments with umpire will lead to player/team disqualification. This will be strictly followed.
  10. Match format: 6 overs, 6 players a side (2 extra players per team)
  11. Over per bowler limit: Only 1 bowler can bowl max 2 Overs, rest get to bowl only 1 over.
  12. Wide ball rules:
    1. For Overs 1 to 5: wide ball is Counted and 2 runs penalty to the team.
    2. Successive wides: 1st wide- 2 runs, 2nd wide-4 runs, 3rd,4th,5th, & 6th wide - 6runs (balls are counted)
    3. For 6th over: ball Not Counted, and 1 run penalty to the team.
  13. NO Ball rules:
    1. For Overs 1 to 5: ball not counted, 2 runs penalty, and next ball is a free hit.
    2. For 6th Over: Ball not counted, and 1 run penalty, and next is a ball free hit.
    3. Full toss above waist is a no-ball, 2 runs penalty
    4. 3rd bouncer over shoulder height, following 2 warnings is a no-ball, 2 runs penalty, and next is a ball free hit
    5. 3 no balls are allowed, 4th no ball in the same over, bowler will be disqualified
    6. Throw bowling is not allowed. Decision will be taken by the umpire
  14. Boundaries:
    1. Fours: Beyond marked pillars, and below horizontal mid-beam
    2. Sixes: Same as fours, except above horizontal mid-beam
    3. Fly through shots will be counted as four or six based on 1st impact point
    4. Over throws to the fence can result in 4's and 6's.
  15. Fielding Rules:
    1. No more than 3 fielders in the 1st half of the ground
    2. Wicket keeper is not mandatory
  16. Catches:
    1. Direct catches, no rebounds. For roof rebounds, ball in play but not a catch
    2. LBW: No LBW outs, foot deflections may result in leg byes/byes.
    3. In case of Tie, Super Over will be played
